Hi guys,
Totally new to the concept of multi pass rendering and compositing, but I can see the attraction. I think my current project will really benefit from this as I need to do a lot of tweaking without a whole lot of time.
So I have a scene with about 20 objects, each of which has up to ten textures in it.
Is there an efficient way to create individual scenes for a diffuse pass, specular pass, etc. etc. or do I have to go through my master scene, save out new versions of each object to preserve the texture settings, choose which objects and lights are on and visible, for each pass?
At the moment I am unsure as to which will take more time; rendering the whole thing lots of times until it is right vs. the time taken to setup scenes for each pass.
Any input and thoughts gratefully received.
Cheers,
Andy

If you use the Photoshop psd export in the image filter tab, you have access to which buffers you want to save....

...and suddenly my world gets a little bit bigger.
Exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks!
