I've just modelled a flat set of tracks for a tank, and now I want to curve them around the "drums" that will power them.

What is the best way of doing this?

I've tried using bend, but that curves the whole track and I want them to be flat on the top and bottom, and only curved at the ends. Should I be modelling the track in sections perhaps?

Cheers

Are you trying to model them around the drums or animate them?
You can use rail clone if youre modeling them.

Thanks Rayek and Larry for your replies.

Rail clone was a nice solution to the problem.

Thanks again.

Kia Ora Dave! :)
You might check on flay.com
There used to be an interactive version of rail clone there. :)

Theres actually a LWver in Greytown? Aint that cool!

I was just there in Feb. What a wonderful country you have.

Saw the most bizarre sunset ever there; a green one over the Tasmin sea.

How many LWvers are there in NZ?

Glad you likes our little town, and NZ in general Drfoley.

I'm not sure how many LWvers there are in NZ, but there are quite a few who keep popping up on this forum. I think I might be the only one in Greytown, but that's not too surprising considering the size of the place.

Its not a bad set up. I look up from my monitor (with bleary eyes) and look out to green pastures and native bush.
