Does anyone know if I can get number of different bones/objects to match the rotation of a null? I don't want them to point at the null, or rather be parented to it. I want the objects to maintain their position, but match the rotation of the null.

hope someone knows :S

Yes, using expressions, follower, channel follower, simple orient constraints/effectors etc.
A real simple way is to select all your objects or bones and rotate them all at once.
Those hand keyed motions can even be tied to the null via cyclist.
