View Full Version : Lightwave 7.5 to Poser morph workflow?

My basic Lightwave 7.5 to Poser 6 morph workflow:
1. Create morph targets in LW on a master subpatch model
2. Freeze patched model for .obj export
3. Import .obj into poser (6)
4. Rig .obj in poser
5. Import individual .obj morph target / apply to parts (not FBMs)

My questions is this:
If a morph target needs to be tweaked or reworked and I go back to the original subpatch model in LW (7.5) do the morph tweak on it, then re-freeze the model and export the effected part (only the part not the whole model so I don't have to re-rig it) as an .obj is there any risk that the point count could change (assuming no additional geometry is added, no addition polygons are grouped into the effected part and the subpatch level is the same when freezing)?

I have tested this on simple models without a lot of morphs to different parts (and the count has stayed the same) but that's about to change.

Was hoping someone out there could save me a whole lot of testing here...

May have answered my own question...

Spent the past few hours testing this and have yet to have any problems.

Point count and order seems unchanged even when stepping all the way back to and working on the original un-patched endomorphed model.

Still cool to know if anyone else sees a trap I'm missing...
