Hi FOlks,

I recently bought lightwave 8.5 and installed it on my desktop PC... Runs great.

My work recently bought a G4 Mac laptop, after installing my copy of lightwave on the mac it wont launch. On my registration it say Windows version of lightwave, but the installers for mac are included on the CD.

I was under the assumption that I could use my copy of lightwave on my mac or PC as long as I had the dongle.

When launching Layout or Modeler the icon bounces once or tweice and never loads.

When I was installing I got an error saying that my dongle number does not match!?!? I accepted anyway.

Any ideas?

THanks,
ab

Go to your account and get a licence for Mac.

Same dongle, but 2 different licenses between Mac and PC

any idea where i might find the mac serial number?
I logged into "Registration" on the newtek website but only see the WIndows serial number under "registered products".

any advice would be appreciated.

thanks,

Due to differences in the Windows and Mac version of the dongle driver, the lock ID is different, so you need to register again.

So you can install and register the same cd on both a Mac and a PC and move back and forth by moving the dongle?

If you have the USB duo-dongle, then you can run on both Mac and Windows. Not all plugin vendors follow suit, however.

Thanks.

Don't use that many external plugs; there are Mac versions of the ones I do use.
