This is a request to any LWers in Japan...
My judo club is having a 20th anniversary party, and I've been trying to get hold of some japanese coins to give out to the kids as prizes during the party games.
I'd prefer the 5 yen coin as it has the hole in the middle...
Is there anyone who could send me a bunch of these? (maybe even 50 or even 100, depending on how much the postage costs...) I'll pay with paypal for the value of the money and postage...

どうも ありがとう ございます!

You should be able to go to any currency exchange and pick some up.

I've never known currency exchange to deal in coinage, I doubt you can go in and ask for a roll of 5 yen.

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion Lamont, but all currency exchanges I've ever used only deal in notes.

Kanpai iDV8!Try in the airports (International ones). I know I get coins from them. I got a cup full of yen, but mostly 1, 10 and 100 coins. But in the States, you can't even get to those terminals unless you got a boarding pass.

International Airports? I live on the border of England & Scotland, in the REAL north-west of the country! Without wanting to reinforce stereotypes, there's open country, lots of sheep, and not much else within a hundred miles...:D
But thanks for the suggestion Lamont.
I've taken Rory up on his offer, so I'm sure he'll be able to help me out.

Cheers everyone
