View Full Version : bone weight maps doesn't work anymore

I point weighted my character and opened an existing rig and replaced it with this point weighted character. Everything seemed fine and I saved the scene file.

When I reopened the rig later, the mesh went all screwwy in the posed position. If I deactivate "use weightmap only" option, the mesh moved back into its proper place but its not using the weightmap.

I tried resting all bones again but doesn't work. Each time I tell a bone to 'Use weightmap only" the mesh moves away from the bone.

The point weights back in Modeler still looks fine, nothing is amiss in modeler.

What's happening?

If you use the weight map only option you need to make sure that the TOTAL value of the combined weight maps on any vertex is less then or equal to 100%.
You also have to make sure that every bone is assigned to a weight map.
