Just learning lightwave, I'm fair with photoshop but know nothing about lightwave. Taking a course this fall, 3D graphics using lightwave and want to get a headstart. I'm looking for a beginning training video for lightwave 8.5 modeler and layout. :screwy:

I bought this right here:

it came with a free training cd apparently of some software that is used by teachers in 3d training courses. I looked at it a little bit and it seemed fairly comprehensive. I pretty much knew lightwave when I got it, though, so I didn't work through it. I just wanted the academic copy of the software.

The stuff that the Spline God puts out looks pretty good, too, I thought about buying some of his stuff at one point in time.

Hey Bogie,
I have my Introduction to LW course on special. Its over 30 hrs of material, includes unlimited online support and is $195. I also throw in your choice of any tutorial CD I have for free. Its a great deal and far more material that anyone else provides for the money. :)

I wonder too. Which is good Lightwave training/tutorial.. Just ordered the book, Inside Lightwave 8 through amazon.com. So, lets see what I will get out of it. I wish it is easy like just coloring on the paper. haha. :-)

WOW, this seem to be a major point of discussion of late. Well,I owned every major Lightwave book out there (and I have sold everyone of them on ebay)and I have to be honest without a solid ground to start from...you will find yourself just running in place. I without a doubt recommend Larry Shultzs training CD/DVDs. They are detailed and leave nothing out! They are the best in my opinion. The books are fine AFTER you have the needed training. Plus Larry is always online answering your questions. Don't make the mistake of buying the books now; wait till later. Right now you need to have someone available to answer your ever question, when that question arises and a book no matter how good it is just can't do that. I couldn't afford to go to a school but Larrys course were just as good. This is the second time on the forum I have post this message but it still rings true and always will! Larry Shultzs training cd/dvd are the BEST! PERIOD!
