View Full Version : particles change after preview render

So I have this odd problem where I get the particles looking and reacting just right in preview mode (OpenGL), but when I render with the camera, they don't render what I'm seeing very closely. After the render is done and I close it out, the particles reset themselves to something I didn't want.

Why are they changing? I make a change in the collision parameters for instance, hit Calculate, then check the motion, then render and something changes.

For instance, I have the collision object set so many of the particles are sticking to it. But after I do a render, they no longer are sticking.

What am I doing wrong?

Here's an example of what I'm talking about.

I want the particles to sort of stick the the geometry.

But when I render, I don't see that. Right after I close the render, the particles change.

What's happening?

If I hit Calculate again, they go back to what I want until I render.

For some reason I couldn't access the 2nd link, but the first one looks like the problem I'm having. I'll give their suggestion a try.
