Yes. There is a section on http://www.eyeonline.com concerning upgrades. I don't remember exactly where it is, but you log on with your account info (like when checking for updates), and somewhere there is an "Upgrades" link.

It ain't cheap!

Blimey !!! I could purchase Combustion for the upgrade price !!! :thumbsdow

That's the trouble with some of these upgrade giveaways, they tie you into a product you would have probably never looked at twice had it not been a giveaway !!

Not that Fusion isn't a good product, I just don't use it enough to justify that kind of upgrade price.

What was the upgrade price? and were you looking at the upgrade price to DFX+ or the upgrade to the full DFX?

To upgrade DFX+ 4 w/ Modules 1 & 4 (the NewTek version we got) to DFX+ 5 is $995.

I'm glad I spotted this thread. I'm not trying to move it off topic but, I'm currently trying to decide if I sould get the upgrade for DfX+4 or for the same price get a new version of After Effects 7.0 pro. Does anyone have any suggestions?

so the reason why it's 995 as opposed to 495 is because DFX+5 includes all the modules? where the Lightwave offer only included Modules 1 and 4?

I dont have an answer to either of you, but more of a question. Why do you feel you need to update DFX+4 if you hardly use it? what is it that DFX+5 has that you need?

I also do not use it much due to limited amount of time, and was thinking to get started again.

As far as I know the $495 is upgrade to 5 w/NO modules, and $995 is upgrade to 5 w/ modules. At least that's what sense I could make of it when logged on. All you have to do is log on to your eyeonline account and click the upgrade button. It will show you your choices -- $495, $995 or $1995.

My reason for looking at upgrading was that the last job I did with DFX+ would have been much easier with 3D workspace and particles (I ended up having to do more in Lightwave with horrible long render times). That's why I was comparing it to Combustion as it has these abilities !

I upgraded my DFX+ to the full version Fusion 5. No regrets. For pure compositing, effects, 3d and particle work it is excellent and beats AE in those areas. AE is easier for motion graphics (fancy MTV style titles etc) work though.
