View Full Version : Modeler - Merge Polygons Question

Hey all, I've been trying to Merge Polys on a Letter N and Letter S here... I've merged their points so that it seems to me they are intersecting. Even crazier is when I click on the strip that they have in common, it selects 2 polygons (screencap).

I'm still a newbie big time, so I must be missing something fundamental. The point counts at their intersections are "1"... and yet Merge Polys still complains that the Faces do not share edges and/or curves the end points...

I created the S using Bezier curves, then later used "Make Poly" to join those elements together... is that my problem?

Is the upper point of the S also on the N?

yep... unless I don't know how to verify that...

I used "merge points" and took the two selected points down to one in that operation...

Is there a way I can verify this?

Try This

1) Select the polygon for the letter <N>.

2) Switch to point mode and add a point on the letter <N> just above were the top of the letter <S> is touching the letter <N>.

3) Weld that new point on the letter <N> to the point on the letter <S>.

4) Weld the bottom point of the letter <S> to the bottom point of the letter <N>.

5) Go back to polygon mode, and select each of the polygons, Then merge the two polygons together.

You should end up with one object this way
