They also just registered a new domain: GOOGLE3DWAREHOUSE.COM/INFO/ORG
Will this be a turbosquid contender?

the 3dwarehouse seems to be a SHARE area not a shop...things might change though!

to get them into lw you'll need either sketchup pro at 316 or a converter plugin/app that can read a google earth 3d file .kmz
or a sketchup native file which is a .skp

not found a converter as yet....!

just looked thru 3d converter and couldn't see a way..

This looks like a neat program to use before you start something that isnt too complicated but needs curves cut out and such (like a building) then importing it into lw to do the details. Its like a fast, simple, stand alone, lwcad app.

Holey cow though, have you seen what people have made! Check out the "most popular" models in the google 3dwarehouse!!! http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/search?ityp=1

Sketchup is very popular among architects and production designers. I am starting to get these models handed off to me on a regular basis. I have been getting them in 3ds format, and they import quite well compared to, for example, vectorworks. I'm guessing the obj export is good too, but I haven't tried it.
