View Full Version : This is a Great Community.

I'm thoroughly impressed with this community. I've been around other graphics related communities before, and they all have a bit of 'bickering' going on; to one degree or another. Everybody here seems to really love working with Lightwave, and is very generous in helping others out...in both praise and advice.

I'm looking forward to getting my demo (it's going on 2 weeks now, I imagine it should be here pretty soon), and starting to get familiarized with the UI. I'll be weaning myself off of TrueSpace at the same time.

Very true! The lightwave community is great! :agree:

Well (like I said in my first thread here), I think I've found my new home.

The on-line LightWave community, especially here @ NewTek, was one of the main reasons I ended up purchasing LW many years ago. It doesn't get any better than this!

Oh, we have our bickering too :argue: :D

04-27-2006, 11:44 PM
:argue: We Do Not!

04-28-2006, 02:56 AM
We so do, and my LW is better than your LW so neerr-nerr-ne-nerr-neer :p ;)

Seriously though, it is, for the most part, a cool community and one I'm pleased to be a part of. Even if many of us are quite, quite insane ..gibber...

:argue: We Do Not!

Yes, we do.

Agreed, one big happy family, people share ideas, scenes, objects, tutorials, advice (even non-LW related!)

I've only met a few people from the forum in real life, but I still feel as if I know most people on here!

It's certainly never boring round these parts....and mostly the bickering is constructive not just pointless.
Plus it's never deserted, there's always someone on here to talk to, bicker or share the sheer overpowering love of the Wave of Light with.

Matt and hrgiger are the worst of the lot....so be careful, one wrong look and they become monsters!!

Welcome, come on in and warm your tootsies by the fire.

Do remember to leave all possesions at the cash desk, relationships with the bouncers and the rest of your meaningfull life at the door. :D

We just bicker when we're sober.

Signal to noise-

We just bicker when we're sober.
Aha, so that's why I don't bicker.

04-28-2006, 06:09 PM
Well, then I'm gonna be bickering quite a bit in the next few hours:D I've got my Guinness in one hand right now!

04-28-2006, 08:07 PM
Is that bickering or just the alcohol talking.:D

Welcome, I love the community.

04-28-2006, 08:27 PM
I gave up on arguing with myself:D

04-29-2006, 01:14 AM
Yea we bicker, and we are helpful. See if you can put the two things together. Just like in real life in people, theres the good and the bad on the population in general, and in within ourselves as well. But no doubt about it it sure is helpful. Especially knowing that now you have where to park your car, and no need to wonder around looking which community fits best for you.

Welcome, but I do agree with T-Light, I quote "Do remember to leave all possesions at the cash desk, relationships with the bouncers and the rest of your meaningfull life at the door", as LW consumes you positively and constructively, leaving less and less time and energy for other things. ANd Im smiling as I say that !!! :hey: :D :D :goodluck: :jester:  :)

I've got about a buck-fifty in my pocket, a piece of Wrigley's, and some lint. I just graduated yesterday, so I'm free to pursue things now. Still waiting on the Demo to get here though.

Oh? Which plug-in did order from Worley? ;)

05-01-2006, 02:34 PM
Does anybody know what version the current demo is in? I just found a demo I ordered awhile back (forgot about it), and it's version 8. At any rate, I've plugged that one in for now, and I am starting to mess with it.

Worley or worley.com (Fprime, G2, Sasquatch) gives weird gifts when you order somthing on cd, ie polystrene planes, lint etc etc)

On demo versions, the last I remember was 7 or 7.5. They're releasing a new version for 9 though :)
