View Full Version : Lightwave Excersise: Spot Out Whats Missing

Hey fellow lightwavers! I was working on this scene which I posted a image below and was thinking to myself, since I am not very creative, what else I could add to make this scene look more realistic. I was trying to figure out what type of lighting I should use. I was thinking about what kind of textures I should use. What other models should I throw in?

So I thought of instead of just posting on here asking for suggestions, that I would let newbies, veterans and everyone play with the scene and see what they can come up with. I think this has great potential if it is put in the right persons hands. Just add a spark of creativity to the scene and lets see what we get. So I attached the scene files for you to download and mess around with. Post your results.

Feel free to change anything, mess with the lighting...make it better, create a different type of mood if you like. Add new models in the scene to make it more interesting. Adjust the textures to your liking....do whatever! Let your imagination run wild as is always said. So have fun, post your results...cant wait to see what everyone can come up with.

seems to be missing the terminator 2 'metal man' rising out of the floor to me!:)

1st rule of 3D.....all checkerboard planes must be reflected in a chrome sphere. The scene REQUIRES a chrome sphere....

Not including a chrome sphere would be like 'crossing the beams.'

Well as I said, I cant wait to see what people can do with this. I am not working on this any longer...not asking for suggestions...just putting it out there for people to expiriment with...to learn with and what not. So cant wait to see what happens :)

err Colkai because of the checkboard floor this cow should be reflective and shiny :lol:

I see your chrome sphere, and raise you a transparent refractive sphere..

it's LW, so it obviously needs a cow in there

Now remove the diffuse component from your spheres, making them look more silvery!

Wait, wait, there must be chrome spheres reflecting other chrome spheres and cows and transparent spheres and checkerboard floor (with thin fog layer). And then, there has to be some gold reflective text with specular highlights.

Oh yeah, loose the room.

Oh man, how could I have missed lens flairs, but then you have to have the nebula background so it looks like a exploding star.
