Recently, while transporting my laptop between work and home, I lost my LW Dongle. I searched the forum for info on how to get a replacement and found nothing. I can't be the only one who lost this little bugger. Anyway, what’s the process to getting a new one? ...Thanks, Roger Mal:help:

ya need to call Newtek, tell them of your situation.
You will need to have your serial number handy...
It took a couple of weeks to get mine.

The cost is around $260...ya I know... thats what I said!

good luck Roger

That's why we need to do away with the dongle. It was worse with 3dsMax when it was dongle protected, you lose the dongle, you pay full price for replacement, i.e., buy a new license.

There ought to be laws against these kind of profiteering. Probably enough Max users took them to court and they finally changed to software locks.

Oops... that is real bad luck...
I'm always afraid the same thing will happen to me, I use Light Wave on my computer at my studio, on my computer at home and sometimes on my laptop while traveling. Thats a lot of chances each day to loose the little bugger (aka the dongle).

I realy hope u get ur replacement fast with a reasonable price

It really is a rip-off!....
I think if enough people complain... we might get some action!

Where’s William Wallace when ya need him!
