View Full Version : Question on FPrime

Now that i have my letters smoothed out(no bevels),Why does FPrime render this and lw renders this. The face poly does have a few cuts in it.All that curving gave me a fit.Does the face need to be cut up more?
I tried merge points and unify polys, and set value and the statistics show all is good as far as flatness or weird points. The model looks good in layout.i don't see any strangeness with it.(scott) Oh,and the Letter "I" is the only one that gave alot of trouble.Even when i extruded it the face flipped around(inverted). The only way out was to extrude the wrong way and flip the side walls back out.Beats me!

Bryans right, FPrime can sometimes get "upset" over N-Gons. Not ALL the time, just sometimes. I've found judicious splitting of a poly can make all the difference, you don't have to triple it, you may even not have to quad/tri all of it.

I figured it was to much stress on the polys,so i made cuts at all the intersections and it renders fine now. Thanks(scott)
