Started up Lightwave today and it seems like preferences or settings have been reset, or something like this. I had to reset my Content Directory for one and none of my scenes recognize any of my photoshop textures anymore. I can't import them again either. The only format it seems to accept is .tga. That's also about the only format I can export as after rendering. There used to be quite a long list of formats I could export as.
The only thing that has changed with my system since the last time I used Lightwave is that the contents of an external drive have been copied to an internal drive. The drive name stayed the same, though. The only Lightwave related files on the drive were the textures in question. But regardless of location, I can't get Lightwave to import any psd file.

Sounds like you need to add your import export plugins again...

In Layout: Utility->Edit Plugin. There you can Add Plugins (psd.p is in lightwaveDir/plugins/input-output or you can simply scan the whole pluginsdirectory
