I had recently attended a seminar at the Hilton,Pikesville MD.Though I'm a LW user, the demonstration of the speed editor was WOW.Will this ever be a stand alone program?Very Impressive. (scott)

If you are coming to NAB, I would HIGHLY recommend that you attend our end user meeting on Sunday night. We are showing everything there!

I was at the same seminar and unless something different was shown at the afternoon session, we did not see speededit.
We were shown VT4.6 & Tricaster & LW9, A mention was made in such a way to lead one to believe that speed edit is a stand-alone editor.
I REALLY wish I could make NAB this year. Any chance the Sunday night show will be web cast?? Please?

This has GOT TO BE the most tight-lipped I've seen the crew.

I'm not allowing myself to be excited because I'm not going to Vegas. :( However, I am excited for NewTek and all the excitement I expect them to garner.

Yup.... given that last year was somewhat anti-climatic with everyone else's HD announcements, I'm hoping for big things (and big press) this year !

Yeah... I know ~ believe me, I'm bummed about it :(

But the show must go on and the corporate project I booked it too big to give up - I will probably be able to pay for the new Panny camera with it.

I forgot who owes who years ago..... so we'll just have to buy multiple rounds and see who falls down first !!!!! :D

I think it's interesting that a LW guy doesn't know about the VT, presumably, dismissing it because of the live component. ;)

It is a very cool tool, as you've seen. Purportedly, it's on its way to improving to a great degree. Here's hoping SpeedEdit is something more 'Wavers will notice.

No doubt, I can't believe how many LightWavers have been using apps like Premiere to edit their stuff for demo reels.....why? Because they haven't had sufficient funds, or being 3D animators, enough reason to justify the purchasing a full-on VT suite with the requisite "hardware dongle."

It's almost as bad as VT users never touching LW, much less LWConnect!

;)

Speed Edit to the rescue, perhaps?

Wasn't that the line up to get a free NewTek hat?

so, speededit can be had, and used, without buying the VT suite?
sort of like a standalone editor [ie. premiere et al] ?

if it was a perfect world, i'd love to have a vt suite but i can hardly feed myself sometimes.. :/
[always wanted a toaster/flyer since the amiga days]

According to a NewTek post card that I got in the mail yesterday about their NAB presentation(We can WIN a FREE TriCaster), they are showing 5 different products. 1-SpeedEdit 2-VT(5) 3-TriCaster 4-Inspire for Video 5-LightWave V9. Leads me to think that it is a seperate product.

Just to post another little slice of sun shine. This has been mentioned on another thread, but for those who might not know. SpeedEdit is frame and resolution independant as well   Can you say editing in 24P I think you can.
