I'm trying to make a sea anemone sway underwater. I've been using cloth fx but the object just wont hold its shape!

Can someone please show me how to set this up?. Should I use Soft body dynamics? how do soft body dynamics work? the documentation on Soft Body dynamics in lightwave is almost impossible to understand!

Its possible to do this kind of thing using bone dynamics and IKBoost- I've seen a nice demo of bones reacting to wind that might work well for underwater.

But the IK Booster docs are not that good, and personaly I would use morphs for this effect- you get much more control and set up is easy.

EDIT: Or better just an animated texture displacement might work.

I agree, IKBoost would be one way to do it.
You could use animated displacements as long as theyre subtle because you can get unwanted distortions.
you can use clothfx if you use a proxy object with tentacles done using strings of 2 point polys and the anenome metalinked to the proxy object.
