Hello;
Can someone let me know what the maximum "operating" temperature extreme for a VT-3 card is ? This is the older card btw, not the latest one designed for VT4+.

Then just moved a server rack in the same room as my VT-3 system and even in Winter, it gets very, very hot in there (It's a small room) so I need to provide justification for moving the server out of there ASAP. Thanks for a quick response.

Don't have the exact temp figure, but a hot [3] card will do all sorts of funky stuff to the audio, like snap, crackle and popping. This was a fairly well known behavior that was cured by extra cooling.

I haven't laid eyes on my VT card in a while (knock on wood) so I can't say for sure, but the upper operating range for many chips is 85C. That's the "industrial" range; there's also "extended" or "military" range up to 125C, but I doubt Newtek went there (maybe for the Tricaster). ;)
