hey jnddepew

im affraid i can't hook you up with a tutorial since the only one i know of is in this book i have...incase you are interrested, its called 'inside lightwave 8' by Dan ablan...
But i can tell you that im rather new to lightwave myself, and at first, i was baffled by the complexity of rigging and weight maps and such, but its actually rather simple.
I'll be sure to have a quick google for you to see if i can find anyting and i shall most defenatley report back to you.
Google is great for finding tutorials, have a go at it.
But I'm sure people here have a hook up or two ;)

[email protected] name by the way, does that stand for 'jonny depp eww'? LOL

Good luck to you!

Hey, jnddepew. By the time you read this, you might have already found something, but if not, than hopefully this helps. Here's a great site for Lightwave tutorials, including IK and weights:

Also, check out Dan Ablan's courseware @ 3dgarage.com. His courseware is fantastic for beginners. He has some free rigging tutorials there:

I hope that helps. :)

I would check out my character rigging module. Its about 15 hours of material that covers all aspects of rigging and doesnt assume you know anything. It also comes with unlimited online support. Theres lots of free tutorials out there. Many of the tutorials Ive seen produce rigs where the joints pop, flip or do other strange things. I would avoid such tutorials because any rig that exhibits any of those behaviors is not a good rig. Ive done character rigging in LW for many years so I know this from hard experience. :)
BTW if you want to see a live demonstration of some decent rigs drop me a line - [email protected] :)
