I have been supplied an object where the polys have been tripled, and I would like to know if an object has been tripled, is there any way to un-triple the object easily?

At the moment I am merging poly's but thinking there has to be a better way!

You can use LW's own reduce polygons plugin, or you can try TB's Un-Triple which can be found right here (http://home.att.ne.jp/omega/tabo/3dlabo/p_lwp.html)...

Thanks for the prompt reply trick.

Unless I'm doing something wrong (huge possibililty this is the case) the reduce polys doesn't just get rid of the tripled polys, but also merges some polys in the base structure. I don't want to alter the base in any way, just get rid if the triples.

As for the plugin, its another one of those **** pc only ones.

Sigh... sometimes its so lonely in the mac world ;)

Sigh indeed !!

You could ask your supplier if he can export to OBJ-format. I thought this would not triple the mesh !!

Merge Trigons X Sounds exactly like what I'm after.

I had a look on flay, but all of the links are broken - looks like it was posted in 2003 and now out of date.

Thanks for your comments though, I will keep looking.

Go to this link and try uTriForth. It's an lscrript so it should work on mac.

BTW it's not lightning fast :)

Yeah TB usually makes fantastic plugins,

TB's untriple and Merge Trigons, do exactly the same thing.....
Merge Trigons uses a slightly faster algorithm than TB's version though...

Either will do the job.

Tried a search for Merge TrigonX, and could not find it. Link to site through Flay comes up not found. Any other way to get it?

Still no luck for me finding the Trigonx plugin on Flay or a Google search.

How about I just post the plugs here? I have both MergeTrigonX and TB_Untriple.

[EDIT] Doh! Forgot to attach the plugs :P [EDIT]

Both Merge TrigonsX and TB_Untriple are in the .rar
