Hi, I might be getting a GeForce 7800 GS and am wondering how good it works, I've seen the specs but you really don't know what a graphics card is like until you've actually seen it in action.(or had someone tell you about it:D ). If anyone knows anything about this card and how it works with Lightwave please post, thanks.

The reason I said might was because I have a pretty good chance of wining $250.

I don't know how it works with LW but if you're spending $250 of money maybe you should think about getting a 7900GT instead? According to various benchmarks it runs stuff as fast as a 7800GTX but for less money, power requirements and heat. Just a thought :).

I have that card at home (BFG OC brand- 256mb) and it works just fine. It is the fastest AGP card out there. Just keep in mind that if you later upgrade your PC it will have PCI-E for video and you won't be able to use the GS.

I have tested it with all major 3D/2D software and have had no problems. I have also tested it with dual monitor setup consiting of both LCD and CRT monitors. Currently I am using it with a 24" Dell LCD at 1920x1200 and a 19" Samsung CRT secondary monitor at 1280x1024. Everything works just fine and it fully supports LW's OpenGL 2.0 stuff.

(also is working very well with Oblivion! :) )

Hope this helps!

7900GT doesn't come in AGP flavored. ;)
