View Full Version : Open GL Maximum Lights & Maximum Texture Size

What does it mean that the Open GL for my video card (NVIDIA) specifies Maximum Lights = 8 and that Maximum Texture Size = 4096? LW allows more than 8 lights in a scene. Does it mean that above 8 the others have no effect with my NVIDIA card? If so, which ones? What card do I need to support more lights? What is Maximum Texture Size anyway? I don't know what 4096 means? Sorry if this is too basic, but it's over my head at the moment. Thanks for any advice.

It means LW only supports up to 8 lights in OGL.....
It's usually the first 8 lights loaded, after that they are ignored by OGL,
(still work in renders)

I'm unsure of the 4096x4096 resolution limit
It's a likely a maximum OGL limit for textures...

Although the OGL display limitation is limited to 1024x1024 display level anyway.

No!, a better card will not do any better, these are LW limitations, that should of been surpassed by now......
