Right, I've made my logo now, and reckon I wouldn't mind seeing it chrome. i want it to look really sleek, not just like your standard refelction map chrome effect.

Anyone got any decent tips for making realistic chrome?

Cheers

Well, why not start it and let us give you advice on what you need to change? The key to good reflective surfaces is giving them something to reflect, so don't go knocking reflection maps unless you plan to start modeling stuff to reflect.

Just use skytracer or some other background to reflect. Try 70% reflection and about 30% diffusion. You'll probably want to use the softshadows feature in Lightwave to keep the reflections soft. That might be a good place for you to start.

put reflection on a gradient with incidence angle too, makes it less uniform and boring!

read Leigh's texturing tutorials in the erm, tutorials section, it explains why surfaces behave like they do, once you understand that you can create anything!
