Hi!
I am using AfterEffect for composing and it give me a hard time to transfer footage to Rtv.
Some friend suggest using uncompressed Avi instead of rtv, Is there a potential problem for this?
Thanks!

The only problem is that uncompressed avi's are huge in size ... as an example 30 second TV commercials that I do when rendered to an uncompressed BGR24 equals a file size that is almost 1 gigabit in size.

Since rtv is also uncompressed, the file size will be the same. Uncompressed avi's do work with the VT. This question has come up before and I believe Paul Lara mentioned that the VT software is better optimized for rtv's but uncompressed avi's will work.

Just thought I'd mention a small point .... uncompressed rtv files are smaller in size than uncompressed BGR 24. The reason, I'm told, is because rtv's use yuv color space whereas BGR uses RGB color space ... the yuv is more efficient.

Try using the HuffYUV codec.

It's free, smaller and still lossless. It works more like Zip than JPEG.
