View Full Version : why child should suffer if parent is squashed?

The request is to remove scale dependance of child objects from parent object.
Currently if you scale parent object and rotate child object, then child object's scale is distorted badly.
Some workarounds exist, but it is not normal anyway.

I have nothing useful to add, but I love the thread title. :D

It makes perfect sense. Not saying that it could work any other way and still make sense. I wouldn't mind seeing checkboxes (or slider) to control "scale dependance" aswell as "rotation dependance" (read: banking) of children.

thats why you use expressions to point constrain and bank constrains with an adjustable fraction. i believe follower already does this.

I just checked, follower motion plugin does indeed already do this for you!

just check all the channels you want to reference, im assuming you want to use all translate and rotate channels, and then if you want bank to be less affected, type in a decimal multiplier to that particular channel. easy as pie and no need for a feature request, since its already there...

now if NT wanted to integrate that plugin into the core interface, then i dont see why not.
