Howdy,
This should be easy but I can't figure it out. I'm having a hard time getting the bump array procedural to work on a sphere, like a golf ball. It works perfectly on a flat surface but not on the ball, as you can see. Will a procedural texture not "map" properly on a sphere? I would appreciate very much any tips! Thanks.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. I'm trying to construct a golf ball using the bump array procedural in the surface editior bump map. This doesn't seem to work well on a sphere so I made an image map with spherical projection. The "holes" are all symmetrical now, but they are not concave, like a real golf ball. The LW 7 manual says the procedural bump array is good for golf ball-like textures, but how the heck do you map it onto a sphere???

Procedural textures exist in 3D space, you can't wrap them around things. If you want to use that procedural, you can apply "Texture Filter" to an image map and put the procedural in there.

To make it concave instead of convex, invert the map so the holes are black.
