Here is a two page article from the latest issue of Edge about the game I'm working on.... and two of my renders have also crept in at the top of page 2 ;)

What you guys think of the game as far as you can see in the screen shots?

Shame, I thought this might have been of some interest seeing how its all done with Lightwave. No matter.

Looks nice. Is it a general type of high speed racing game?

How's life at Argonaut these days? - I used to work there many moons ago - Is Justin still working in the music dept?

I remember Jez scoffing at LightWave (3.5) when we were using 3D Studio and saying that the anti-aliasing was crap - that was in the days of Creature Shock.

Funnily enough, the chap who wrote the original PowerDrome (Michael Powell?) worked at Argonaut for a while - is he involved in this job? - He was working on a SuperFX game called Vortex at the time...

I just noticed it says "Argonaut Software Sheffield" - I worked in Colindale - has the Sheffield office been going long?

Hey Aegis

I can answer most of that for you! (I think). I'm assuming 'Justin' will be at Edgeware? So no diea there.

I need to change my sig in fact, as we are simply 'Argonaut Sheffield'. In a previous life, we were known as Particle Systems - creators of Powerdrome (original one), the Independence War games, as well as Exo (sadly canned). Therefore Mike Powell is involved as head guy at Argonaut Sheffield along with Glyn Williams (both directors of what was Particle before Argonauts buy-out/their sellout).

Cheers

INDEPENDENCE WARS - some nice work there. this one looks pretty good, too. i like this genre a lot - was recently dissappointed by BEAM BREAKERS, ran like a slide show on a machine with almost three times the minimum requirements, even the menus! i'll be watching for this one.
