View Full Version : IK BOOSTER slow...How to speed things up

I love IK booster but when it calculates dynamics it takes about 30 sec.
to preview 20 frames. I'm on a dual 1.8g G5 w/1 gig ram and 64 mb video ram. Is this normal or is there a way to optimize those calculations
of dynamic bones. I'm working only w/six bones, so it seems unusual
that it would take so much time

Motionmixer is a great tool, but I notice that I have to re-name all
my bones sequentially for it to be saved w/scene. is there a better
way to ensure the motionmixer data is stored when I save my scene.

Try closing your Graph editor window and opening it again, that sometimes speeds things up for me..

I've tried using follower plug-in to create same effect to replace ik booster
but when i set it up, it simply behave illogically.
I create parent bone, child bone and have child follow parent
with all all rot,pos - with a time delay of about.1 or so and the
rotations seem to work but when I move pos of parent -child moves out of sync with parent. i want a dangling dynamic effect where the child bones follow parent with a simple3 frame delay---seems simple yet no solution.
I really appreciate the help all.....tons of thanks

Dodgys suggestion is a good one. I would also turn off show motion paths and show keyframes. Having the GE and these other things on will definately slow things down.
It works pretty fast for me unless its something complicated. :)
