View Full Version : Compositing Targa Seqence in LW 8.f

I'm trying to use a rendered targa sequence in 8.5 as a "flat" for animating some particle effects around. The sequence was rendered out of FPrime, so the alpha is merged with the color channels. Is there any way to split out the alpha so I can use it as a clip map on a card?

In the image editor make an instance of your sequence and tell it to be
only alpha and use this to clipmap what you want.

Thanks! That's a great idea, and it *almost* works!;-)
The problem is, the alpha clips out the object and leaves the rest of the flat, precisely the reverse of what I want. I tried clicking "Invert" in the "Editing" tab, but it doesn't do anything. I also tried making a copy, rather than an instance, just to see if Invert would work on that, but that's no-go as well.....

AH! "Invert Layer" in the clip-map texture panel does it! Thanks!
