Hello All,

I'm searching for some plugin to make lower lods, like QEMLOSS. But with QEMLOSS I loose the mapping. Someone know any way to make it on Lightwave 7.0?

Thanks

There is QEMLOSS 2 that preserves mappings.

Does QEMLOSS 3 not work with LW7?

There is a version for 7.X.

Thank you both, Duke and Lamont.

I got it right now. Let's see what it can do ;)

A tip I stumbled onto by lucky accident when modelling LOD models.
Take the original model, duplicate it into a new layer, then kill the polygons "k" on the duplicate. Put the original model as background layer then manually start creating polygons to shape up the LOD model by using the already existing vertices. Quite easy to get a decent lowpoly shape this way, and the interesting surprise (at least to me the first time) is that the UV mapping is more or less intact since the UV's are stored in the vertices. The results are naturally depending some on how the model and map was layed out. Might not help you out though, but I went from ultralowpoly models to extremely lowpoly LOD's and this worked out great.

The QEMLOSS3 worked perfectly. Fozz, your tip is very good too. I needed something like this, today I can do. Thank you too
