View Full Version : Wind Tunnel Effect?

I need help please. I have to do an animation showing wind flowing over a wing, as in a wind tunnel.

I've never used the particle emitter before. Is there a way to get the particles to flow around an object and match it's shape?

Any help is appreciated. I can't seem to find any tutorials out there that cover this situation.

I actually have a wind tunnel scene all set up, that I got from a tutorial way back when. I can't seem to find the tutorial, but I have all the objects, and the scene, so you might be able to tear it apart & figure out how it was done. This was not done with a particle emitter BTW.

The olde fashioned way was a morph on a flat plane with a transparency texture using something like fractal noise. Worked quite well.
Example AVI andscene/objects in attached zip file.

That's the exact same one I have, just have lost the step by step to actually set it up.

These days you'd use an endomorph rather than a separate object but the rest is pretty much straight forward.
