Ahhhh, trendwhore! How did you achieve it? How does one go about modeling something like this? Did you do something like a rail extrude or fust start twisting polygons around randomly?

i actually started with some polygon crunching in zbrush and imported into lightwave for the final twisting before rendering.

noice huh?

the reason it works soooo nicely is that you are seeing an image that is lit using the image world plugin and a hdri image as generated from vue 5 infinite... it does nice hdr images for renders... the objects are all glassy and highly reflective... 4-9 hour renders depending upon size.

check my website for more trend whore like works.

You are very cool.

Are you animating this for the video, even with 9 hour per frame renders? I love it man, as far as I'm concerned abstract weirdness is the best use of the incredible power that is computer graphics.

I didn't notice Chaoscope on your reference page, seems like it would be right up your alley... http://www.btinternet.com/~ndesprez/

Oh so nice!!

thanks for the chaoscope link too will check it out.

The actual frames at pal video size will render in about 3 minutes.

The long renders for the works above are because they are rendered at print resolution ( huge sizes ).

I would not take a 9 hour render for a frame as being at all reasonable.

again.. thanks for the appreciation.
