I just bought Lightwave two days ago especially beacause of the lightwave 8 announcement.
I was wondering how is the upgrade coming, is it a new box with the new manual or is it just a download ?

And do we have to ask for it or is it sent by default ?

I guess we'll have to wait and see...

Major upgades usually comes in a box with manual(s) so....that's my guess.

I just upgraded myself. Chuck said it would be done by download in his original post in the "Community" section (it's still near the top of the list if you want to read it). As long as I can get the software and at least a pdf of the manual, I'm good. Of course it would be nice to have a hard copy manual.

I'm sure that any users of LW 8 will receive a CD and a hard copy manual.

And don't forget the Lightwave T-shirt Newtek.;)

The free upgrade to [8] is by download, including the reference manual in electronic form. Those eligible for the free upgrade who want the CD and hardcopy materials for LightWave [8] will be able to purchase a Convenience Upgrade, most likely to be priced at $99US.

thanks a lot chuck ! :)

That seems pretty fair. Considering NT is nice enough to give you a free upgrade from as far back as April 1st.

Thanks for the response, Chuck! I was hoping we could buy a hard-copy for somewhere in that neighborhood! Glad we're on the same wave-length!

Any idea of what the upgrade cost would be to us non-free-upgrade 7.5 users? ;)
