I need help!! I have to make dark smoke like somrting after a bomb attack, but you need to be in it, or just above it. You must be able to see throught it. Everything I come up with looks terrible. What preset should I use and what settings? One can play with this sort of thing forever. Any idea's?

What have you tried? It would be a lot easier to help if you could show what you have so far...

I think I have it. I turned off motion blur to save render time.

i think it's better to make these effects in post production, render by layers targa and add smoke in post with much more speed and control.

post might be a better option.

sometimes i use a volumetric point light for smoke that the camera is inside.

Trouble is this is not an animation and the print is 17"X10" @300dpi. I have nothing that supports that resolution. Do you think it really looks that bad? What can I do to improve it?
