any brave souls upgrade to 10.4.4 already, and if so any issues with 8.5?

TransparentDock is incompatible with 10.4.4 :( Other than that, no issues.

is that a third party app? because my dock is transparent.

I'll stick with 10.4.2 until that preview crash is hammered out -

No probs so far. Photoshop crashed a few times, but apart from that all sweet.

Well, besides the freak kernal panic I received on startup, everything is fine ;) I wasn't paying enough attention before the update to notice if LW's performance has improved any... but apparently there are new card drivers in there, so who knows...

All good with me so far. Running LW8.5 on OSX 10.4.4 on a dual 2.5GHz G5 tower. I don't know if it's Lightwave or the OS update or both, but for the moment LW is running more stably on my system than at any point before :)

If it's the 8.5 update, then well done NewTek! (of course, I may just be one of the lucky ones :P )

Though I should mention that GLSL display previews don't seem to work. Could be 'cos I've only got the baseline 9600 in my G5

Oh, sorry about that. TransparentDock is an application for controlling the opacity and colors of the Dock. I don't like the milky white default, so I usually reduce the opacity to 5%. They just released a new version that is compatible with 10.4.4, though.

The Hardware OpenGL shader thingy? There isn't even a button for it.

wtf??? Does it work? Last I heard it wasn't available on the mac.

Does it *appear* if I upgrade to 10.4.3/4??

it's there on mac, you just have to have tiger to see it. yeah it works for the most part. if you head over to the mac bug workshop, someone has taken the liberty of showing visually what works and what doesn't.

Mac OS X didn't get GLSL until 10.4.3, I think. You'll have to upgrade, toby.

Thank you fellas
I somehow got the idea that we wouldn't have it until much later - LW9 or something -

Works fine for me also! How can I change the color of my interface like shown above! That's sweet.

Close Layout and modeler, open the Lightwave8 Hub Prefs file - Users/Library/Preferences, and paste this into it:

BackgroundColor 80 80 80
ActionButtonColor 140 140 170
DialogButtonColor 110 140 170
DragButtonColor 145 175 150
InfoAreaColor 80 80 80
StateButtonColor 194 194 194
InfoAreaTextColor 255 255 255
ToolButtonColor 180 170 150

I personnally don't like the bright green checkboxes, it just happened when I put the colors back to the LW7.5 colors -
