View Full Version : tricaster's avi file and mac/fcp

Have a rented tri hoping it will work for our church. I like most of what i see so far, but wanted to use the tri to "premix" a video shoot this weekend. However, after recording a few minutes to the tri and moving the .avi file to a mac dual g5 & fcp/hd, it crashed fcp!

two issues:

1. the avi is d1 (720x486) vs. fcp's desired 720x480 - how do i work around this?

2. based on the file size, it must be at least dv compressed. does anyone know what codec is being used.

anyone use a tri to write stuff out for later post in macs? How do you get the files transfered - I've only been able to get a pc-formated (fat32) drive recognized by the mac (os x), ntfs (which removes the 4GB file limit) doesn't seem to be supported.

More importantly, how can you export avi files from Final Cut Pro that are suitable for the TriCaster?

Was this problem ever solved?

I've been having a problem using exported AVI files from the TriCaster on FCP as well. They don't cause FCP to crash, but during playback, the audio and video become out of sync.

Any suggestions?

Anyone had success getting AVI off the triaster and onto a Mac?
