View Full Version : Volumetric Light Problem

I'm trying to shoot a volumetic light through a hole in the ground into the sky. However, the light shines through the ground as well. I've tried making the ground double-side, but to no avail. I'm sure I'm doing something really stupid, but can anyone tell me what?

Thanks.

Oh, and I'm using a spotlight.

things to check
Is your light shadow mapped? is the map large enough?
If your light has raytraced shadows, is raytrace on?
The ground object should be double sided, and preferably trippled (to reduce the risc of having a non planar poligon wich can wreck havock in shadows)

Thank you, that worked -- as long as I set the opacity of the volumetric light to 0. Any other value causes some kind of black seepage. But I guess I can live without opacity.

Thanks again.

You could also try turning on "Opacity casts Shadows".
Sometimes this helps.
