Love Lightwave 8.3, hate the html manual. Is anybody willing to sell their hard copy?

I think you can order one from NewTek for $100

Yes, you're right, but I'll need to shell out for that as soon as ver. 9 is out. I was hoping to spend a bit less on 8 just to tide me over til then...

How much are you willing to spend on a brand new :lwicon: hardcopy still in the shrink-wrap?

Gaze - I sent you a personal message...

Just in case you are not aware all the versions up to 7 were bound copies.

8 is not bound. It is in actual fact photo copies in a LW folder.

You might just want to print off your PDF.

Man, I didn't know there was no longer a real "book" manual available. You're right, I might just as well print out the sections I want to study, one at a time, and take 'em around with me. But I'll really miss being able to pull out that nice fat safety net off the bookshelf when I need it...

Put your PDF on a CD and take it to Kinko's or any other copy shop. They can print and ring bind it for you.. Even print it in colour if you want!

How much do copy shops charge per PDF printed page...
for b/w?
for color?

The manual is like 1600 pgs

Last I knew it's like 8 cents per page. With 1600 pages it may be a little less per page, but that is something you'll have to talk to a Kinko sales person about. It could run $70-90 bucks, unless you can work a deal.

I asked at Kinko's tonight. Try $0.80 per color page. 8~

so, almost twice the cost of the software itself to print the manual (in color)

Heavens Above, Gromit! I'll just have to get used to using the Frustrating PDF version then. :grumpy:

Sheesh, it'd be cheaper to buy a couple of those $50 inkjet printers that come with a set of color ink cartridges, plus a few reams of paper???
Wonder if you'd make it thru the whole manual before they fizzle out.

Also recall not all pgs. are in color. Would be nice to have a color hardcopy of the manual on hand. Hmmm...maybe will try once LW[9] is released. :stumped:
