View Full Version : make texture 'spin' around bowl inside?

I have a metal sink shaped like a shallow bowl, and have a nice gunmetal/slightly dented surface going, and have been trying to get the texture and mottled color to appear to go around the inside surface of the bowl, as opposed to randomly, or from center outward.

I've messed with x,y, z scaling, and have gotten the texture to appear to go across the bowl.. (surface here is a procedural).

Is there a way to 'spin' the texture to conform circularly with the inside surface of this bowl? IOW, I'd like the texture to show 'evidence' that this basin itself was lathed, or polished in a circular way - not so much like abrasion or scratchmarks, but

Anisotropy.....hard to say but i think what your looking for.
watch out for that BRDF shader though....it'll getcha if your not careful
and check the tutorials,nice PDf on how to get it to work,
also these guys sell some awesome presets.
then go to:http://www.exch.demon.co.uk/ to get the skinny
on the BRDF shader.
