I hope you like this simple, but fun, composition.

I agree, very interesting image, would also like to know how it was acccomplished, is it 3d or 2d?....nice image either way.

I dunno... that does not seem like a real solution. If you look at the sample they provide, it doesnt really take into account the actual colors in the pics, it just colorizes the pics to match watever color of the source pic it happens to line up with. You can see the same pic used twice but colorized different.

There are several freely available programs that will create a photomosaic from a folder of images. Foto-Mosaik (PC) and MacOSaiX (Mac) are two examples. You have to be sure to have a ton of images for it to draw from, or it won't look right.

mascio, this is a really nice looking image, but did you do all the renders displayed in the mosaic? If not, it would probably be a nice gesture to include a text file in the zip archive thanking all the artists for letting you use their work. Otherwise, it seems like you are trying to pass it off as your own.

Like I said, here's ONE solution.
I have used MacOSaiX once before and it works better but at that time I couldn't remember its name.
