View Full Version : Mirror UV's?

Olla again,

I've UV mapped my character's Left arm and leg. Now I was wondering if there is a way to "mirror" them along with their UV maps to the other side of the torso.

Let me explain. I can mirror them with their UV's BUT I get the exact same UV map. That means that for example both arms have the same UV map. This creates a problem because I cant edit the newly "mirrored" map for the opposite side without messing it up for the Left side.

If I try to create a new uv map to copy it into, it disappears when I select the map I want to Copy.

How would the Pros "mirror" their UV maps in this case?

Juste follow this simple steps:

Mirror you object in 3D view.
Unweld your model.
Select halph of your mirrored object in polygon mode in 3D view.
Use "flip UVs" on U axes.
Move the selected UV with "Snap Drag" on "All Points mode" (numeric pannel).
This will snap your selected part to the other.
Weld your model.

And Voila! Tralala!
