Yeah 3D-Palace has some nice tutorials. That Serenity model looks really cool. I'm currently working on their Dreadnought2 tutorial. Even though they're made for Max I haven't had much problem following along and creating things in Lightwave. It has also given me a challenge to see just how well I know modelers tools.

Of course, you can always download Treybors Serenity and reverse engineer it! ;)

Oh, and check out the comment at the end of the main modelling thread - Treybor is going to redo the "movie" version and create a tutorial as he does.
Seriously Shiny! :D

I watched that film last week. It was recommended by someone who went with me to watch it for their second time.

I might not have bothered overwise, I was pleasantly surprised by it. I was expecting fancy visual effects with crap story, like a number of Sci Movies. Thank fully the film was really really good. I might get the Firefly series now :) .

In regard to the 3D max tutorial does it have a subtitle "how to build a spaceship in 3D that takes even longer than in Maya".

Gosh...I hope I haven't offended anyone, apologises to any victims I've innocently slammed into that catergory. :neener:

Looking forward to that one, his current serenity model is excellent, can't wait to see the new version.

re modeling in max...you might want to try max 8.0 demo...the modeling tools are rather good thesedays and if you add the modeler plugin polyboost they make max the best modeler toolwise by all accounts...or so i hear...

 :hey: :thumbsdow :D

I use Max 8 at work for most things (we make games), but still to pricey for me to own personally. For my own use, LW still has my heart- and $$$!
