Love the dusty look on the thorax, a stunning image.

And VERY nice to see people doing living creatures instead of another *!$!ing CAR!!!

Awesome render - looks photorealistic to me :)

Great work. He's missing two legs though isn't he? I have a book on butterflies (I got it as reference for the one I made) and it clearly mentions two pairs of wings (which you have modeled expertly) and three pairs of legs.

The labial palps also seem to be missing.

I really like the renders and the model, though.

Look closely: his first pair of legs are raised and tucked next to his body.

I think it's very nice! Only one suggestion, maybe make the edges of his wings a bit ragged. In nature, the edges get worn off pretty fast.

I did some more research, and apparently the family Nymphalidae typically only use four of their six legs, and the first two are difficult to see (as we can see by your reference picture), but they do have six legs like other insects.

The labial palps are on either side of the proboscis.

I agree that the wings could be a bit ragged on the edges.

Let me say again though that this is a great model!!!!

Yes, great use of CGI to make an image that would be a nightmare any other way, dead cool!
