As you all know, we are nearing the release of LightWave 9. As is our custom, we are compiling a content CD of royalty free material for LightWave users that will ship in the package.

From now until November 4, 2005, we will be accepting submissions from our users to be included on this CD. All content submitted should be in LightWave scene and/or object format as applicable. Submissions must be original creations and must not be based on copyrights held by others, such as Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. For your submissions to be included on the CD, you must be willing to sign an agreement that anyone can use the content for production purposes without any form of license fee (however, the content may not be resold, even in modified form).

If you would like to submit content for this project, please send an email detailing what you would like to submit, and a link to where the files can be downloaded from, to [email protected] no later than November 4, 2005.

Let's see....Entries for LW9 content must be received by November 4th, which is a friday....Newtek works overtime that weeekend and burns all the disks. Lightwave 9.0 ships on Monday, November the 7th.

note:- estimate of that possibility-:

that's not set in stone remember!
not even set in jello! :D

maybe 'november' would be good...

actually december 2005 would be more in keeping with newtek and their liking for xsmas pressies!

HR Giger... Yes!

Very nice model. Are you doing all the Batmobiles, or did you just do this one?

Unfortunately, no. We are only accepting original content that will not have possible copyright conflicts (such as with Warner Bros in this case).

What about characters with displacements? I have a nice monster with a clean rig and all.

Problem 1: it uses Lynx´s displacement plugin because the native was/is unusable (i guess that can be solved if you guys give me a 9 beta,LOL)

Problem 2: The displacement map is big, around 60 mb. Not a problem for me, i have uploadspace, but maybe there´s a space limititation on the dvd?!

No, I just did this one. As far as I'm concerned, it's the only one worth doing (with the possible exception of the tumbler in Batman begins).

Ah...too bad about the copyright conflict. I'll see what else I can dig up.

Yes you DID the modeling, but the Batmobil copyright belongs to Warner or other...
When I was product manager at Abvent (Art-lantis Render Product manager) I use to avoid this kind of conflict by simply refusing not original media.

Get proton to ask Adam West .. that counts as permission doesn't it? :neener:

Hi,

You can have the plane I've been working on, if you'd like... it's in WIP here and on SpinQuad.

Figure it's about the best model I've done, but then it's the first time I've taken "me time" over the last, oooh, 7 years or so.

*checks clock*

It's still the 4th here :)

Hi.

Are you guys interested in scripts, also?

Actually, it'd be "nice" to have all forms of examples. Scripts, more API examples and code, etc.

What I'd REALLY like to see is a well stocked preset shelves! A good selection of surfaces makes life SO much easier, (particularly for those starting out with Lightwave).

I'd be prepared to dig some out, and check I'm not using any 3rd party shaders, are these of interest?
