View Full Version : Polygons show up as points in uv map

Hi Everyone, :

I'm new to Lightwave(and 3d) and been learning it for a few months. I'm making a uv map(planer, subpatch along Y) and have noticed that some of my object's faces(all 4 sided polygons) show up as points(in the uv window) after I create the uv map. Other areas of the object that I selected do show as polygons in the map.

Any ideas why some polygons show up as points, instead of as lines?

The UV editor has a bug that causes moved, or edited polys in the UV grid to appear as points.

Sometimes these are merely because you have hidden the polys, in which case, the lines wil reappear when you unhide. otherwise it is a bug, and a painful one at that once you start editing uv maps of complex objects.

It has been reported a number of times, and has been there for quite some time now, but as of yet shows no sign of being fixed alas.

Thanks! I'll try recreating the polys from the points as a possible workaround.
