As I recall this was a plugin for Lightwave intel sometime in 2004 and the authors said they had given Newtek the source code and for it to be added into the next release. i also recall them testing it on 7 point something. Is this scheduled for something soon, I'm on the mac and want to be able to export it adn then manipulate them in photoshop and other programs. Anyone? Chuck?

As mentioned about a dozen time previously, There was a problem
with integrating this plugin into LW8+ ... So their is no Mac version.
And the PC version must still be downloaded, and from my knowledge the OpenExr saver for the PC is not as complete as i'd like it.....

Perhaps in LW9, NT wiull write a OpenEXR saver.

Meanwhile, LW supports .HDR as does Photoshop these days,
so that would be the alternative.

This site has a program that will convert an exr format to a png format if that helps.

Hope that helps.

Not really usefull, what's the use of converting your half-float images to 8-bit rgb? you might aswell have rendered on 8-bit to start with...
What i really miss is the LW OpenEXR supporting all the nice features that the format was written for...
I would like to see a new version with the (custom)buffer functions working (so you can output a meriad of buffers in one file), proxy functions, and all bit depths, and all compression types...and offcourse compiled using the latest libraries (version 1.2.2)
Would really help me with compositing and file management...ah...a man can dream...
