So I've seen the Flash presentation, and it looks pretty cool - but how do Lightwave and Infinite work together? Compositing? How's the workflow supposed to be?

Here's a link for some video tutorials on the subject of integration between the two. http://www.asilefx.com/products_tutorials.htm
I have the Vue 5 Basics DVD, and it's pretty helpful at getting you up and running with Vue 5, in a flash.

Right now, you can export all Vue content into Lightwave except elements from the "Ecosystem" (due to the fact that Vue has a proprietary method to render the millions and billions of poly's that it produces). Vue is supposed to be close to releasing "Fusion" that allows you much closer integration and bring in Ecosystem elements as well.
You can also bring all Lighwave content into a Vue scene and render the scene from there (it has a powerful, fast, and feature-rich render as well). Really handy feature. Or you can save your scenes in RLA or RPF format and they will composite well together.

I have found a link about landscape with LW. Perhaps it is already known but there should be some materials that could be reused when making a pipeline between LW and Vue : http://www.firedragon.com/~flashfire/introduction.html
