My client has this problem - "Tricaster box having problems with audio every 25 hours of streaming or so"

Anyone face this problem and any solutions?

MPEG2 has a limit of 26 Hours Max.

In the decoder cards software that I use, PlayBox, there is an auto "card reset" every 12 or 24 hours. This means you loose a couple of frames but it is hardly noticible.
That way the MPEG upper limit is got around.
It is to do with counting frames.

Of course Paul would know that! :D

The problem is my client is streaming 24/7 and they have to restart Tricaster everyday. Is there a better solution? Will the new patch solve this?

Isaac, I know there's been some improvements in streaming, but I don't know if this issue has been verified by testing. Let me drop 'em a line.

In the meantime, there have been many improvements in the patch, so what are you waiting for? :)

Thanks Paul!

I've already installed the patch! :) Will try on my end ...

I tested with both Tricaster and VT4 live. After more than 24 hours, VT4 streams ok but Tricaster loses audio. Any new possible patch for Tricaster on this?
